This photo exhibition is the 2008 edition of the well-received 2003 "Vertical (Domain)" show, featuring a photographic reinterpretation of Hitoshi Tsukiji's photo collection "Vertical (Domain)", which was first published in 1975. In this series, Tsukiji explored the theme of what it means to live in city, giving visual expression to contemporary urban dwellers and the cities they inhabit, fast becoming annexed to the information industry. These computerized cities that continue to expand, and the essence of the sorrow of those who drift and float in such environments are captured not only by the sentiment imparted by the images; these photos condense the significance of their subjects into their detached sense of framing.
