Kami "The Resurrection"

This event has ended.

While people tend to lump mural art of all stripes together under the blanket term "graffiti", Kami's freestyling work has garnered attention and had a huge impact on many people like few other "graffiti" artists. He has enthusiastically explored the diverse possibilities of painting in urban settings, and his bold and unique sense of composition first attracted notice abroad around 1999. He joined the international artist group "Barnstormers" as one of its original members, and then in 2003 kick-started the joint project "Hitotzuki" with artist Sasu. They have produced a number of works in various countries.
In addition, Kami grew to become a highly acclaimed artist on the contemporary art scene after participating in a group exhibition at Art Basel Miami Beach at the end of last year. In Japan, he participated in the "X-color" Exhibition at Art Tower Mito in 2005, while continuing to explore his own creative possibilities by creating a massive mural in 2007 as one of Hitotzuki's projects. This is Kami's first solo exhibition in Japan since 2001, featuring new murals and paintings.
