Resource acquisition is an ongoing project of the Edo-Tokyo Museum which started even before its official opening. A large part of the museum's collection derives from contributions from members of the general public, as well as acquisitions through purchase.
Among the 3184 works acquired over the last fiscal year, 2523 pieces were donated by 47 people, while the museum purchased the rest.
This exhibition is held annually to feature newly-acquired works, as well as to express gratitude towards the donors. This time, about 300 works that have been carefully selected by experienced museum curators are on display, from ancient documents to crafts and other objects that bear testament to the turbulent pre- and postwar era.

Location: 5F permanent exhibition room. Please gather under the Nihonbashi Bridge in the museum.
