Dislocate is an interdisciplinary project exploring the relationship between art, technology and locality. Between 30th August and 21st September a series of public exhibitions, symposia and workshops will bring together experts and artists from Japan, Europe, America and other parts of Asia in a vigorous investigation of our notions of place and how these may be challenged and widened by developments in new technologies.
Dislocate 08 is a project designed to bring together practitioners, publics and young people to pursue an investigation into the relationship between new media and our environment and the creative potentials and commentaries which exist here. Through artistic, cultural and intellectual exchange and collaboration we aim to enable an important sharing of experience and expression of the various contexts which impact upon our daily lives and effect our attitudes to place and new media.
