A.R. Penck "From the 1970s to the present"
This event has ended.
At Galerie Sho Contemporary Art
Media: Painting
A. R. Penck was born in the former East Germany. His work is rooted in primitive motifs and old representational symbols and words. Despite a large-scale solo exhibition of his work that was held at the Setagaya Art Museum in 1997-8, his work is still comparatively little known in Japan. This exhibition, in cooperation with his principal gallery in Cologne, Galerie Michael Werner, will present a selection of Penck's work, focusing particularly on his stick figures, with work from the 1970s to the present.
