Taguchi Fine Art
Finished

Artists

Wakiro Sumi
Wakiro Sumi is a sculptor who is versatile in his use of materials that range from bronze, to plaster and wax as well as in the geometric and organic forms he employs. He has been particularly active after 2000 with exhibition in prominent museum and galleries such as the Shiseido gallery. In this 4th exhibition at Taguchi Fine Art, new works carved out of aluminum, bronze and brass will be on display. Despite being small in scale, all works present the contrast between smoothly polished surfaces and roughly cut surfaces, between the carved out negative space and the small mass that remains, that has characterized Sumi's works throughout the years.
