Gallery Strenger is pleased to announce its first exhibition with Inge Hørup, a Danish female artist . She is widely acclaimed in Denmark and abroad for her paintings, sculptural works and decorations. She has also designed posters for the Danish Animal Protection Agency, the AIDS Fund and many others. Currently, she is working on a church project in Jutland, Denmark. Outside Denmark, she is well known from exhibitions in Germany, Holland, Norway, Sweden, Saint Petersburg, Russia, Belgium and France. She established her studio in France in 1998 and, in 2001, a further workshop in Denmark.
Inge Hørup was born in 1958 into a family where both parents were painters. She went to an Art Academy for children, and, subsequently, the Danish painter Ulrich Kvist was her teacher from 1981 - 1986. She is partly self-taught. Her professional career began in 1984. Her favorite themes are animals, masks and living beings - but the real focus of her work is the role of women in the world. Her paintings reveal and express the female aura with all its colours, poetry, temperament and variegated facets.
