October 2008, the art unit Chim Pom wrote "pika", roughly meaning "flash", in katakana on the sky above Hiroshima City. This act was initially a material for their video piece, but turned into a big scandal, involving media, the government offices and the Hiroshima City Museum of Contemporary Art where their exhibition was scheduled and yet canceled (voluntarily decided by the artists), for offending the atomic bomb victims. Soon after, this incident was followed by their public apology made in front of the victim group and media. Regretfully, their sincere hope for peace wasn't realized before the audiences in Hiroshima.

The rejection was not something Chim Pom excepted to happen. However, they continued to work on projects they planned to exhibit in Hiroshima, facing issues that suddenly accumulated one by one. They also decided to publish an analysis of the incident, making their best effort to hold dialogues with the victims and people involved.

This exhibition commemorates the release of Chim Pom's book and presents the works they created for the unrealized exhibition in Hiroshima. For three days only, a sculpture entitled "Real Paper Cranes" and the video piece with "pika" will be on view.
