Just as the history of the evolution of living beings over billions of years is hidden in each of the bones that support our bodies, there is also meaning encased within the "skeletons" (structure) of industrial products. Such skeletons both tell stories in the evolution of materials, and are the embodiment of the trajectory of creation and the framework of human thought. They are truly the core elements of design. The exhibition is directed by Shunji Yamanaka, whose work incorporates both design and engineering perspectives, and will direct our attention to the relationship between function and form in industrial products, while considering the sophisticated structures of the bones of living beings. The keywords of the exhibition are "bones" and "skeletons." Sparked by the work of 12 groups of creators, we will continue our search for the "skeletons of the future."
