Kozue Takagi
Kozue Takagi is a promising young photographer who made her debut in 2006, winning both the Canon and Epson prizes shortly after. Although she works with photography as a base, Takagi employs techniques that transcend traditional frameworks and expectations of the medium, opening up new horizons for art.

Takagi's practice is made up of two main components: straightforward photography and digitally manipulated images, its apparent opposite. The new series being exhibited at this show belongs to the latter. Yet this is not the whole story - the works here seem to be situated at the juncture of something that links both components of her work. These photo collages created by layering images using a computer make visible the intricate illusion that weaves reality and fiction together. This show features two large works measuring close to three meters across, a combination of about 10 small works that seem like fragmented images scattered from a large work.
