Jinpachi Ogawa
Works by Jimpachi Ogawa, known for his 30-year career devoted to the craft of teapot making.

His works express his philosophy of giving critical importance not just to the beauty of the shape but also to the functionality of the tool. He continues to develop his craft by avoiding repetitions of the same thing, and by accepting success as well as failure in order to accumulate experience and gain the ability to "read" the pots through his five senses.

"I believe it is important to make new discoveries everyday to get closer to the ultimate image I have in mind. It is very easy however to restrict myself to an increasingly confined world by focusing solely on teapots. I believe it's important for me to try my hand at other things in order to keep my mind open and not to lose sight of the most fundamentally important things."

The exhibition will display Jinpachi's teapots, teacups and dishes.
