Tsuyoshi Ozawa
This summer brings another packed calendar for Tsuyoshi Ozawa - a solo exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Hiroshima starting August 1st, and an appearance at the Fukuoka Asian Art Museum with the Japanese-Chinese-Korean artist unit Xijing Men starting September 5th.

On display at the Hiroshima show will be representative works from Ozawa's "Jizoing," "Vegetable Weapon" and Nasubi Gallery series, but this exhibition at Ota Fine Arts hopes to offer a broader perspective on Ozawa's wide-ranging practice. All of his works strive to embody concepts of (mis)understanding of the Other and adaptations of historical or locally specific events or phenomena, but at the same time, Ozawa's working process at times demonstrates exceptional leaps and challenges. The works on display here, from "White House and the Self Defence Forces" to "Sky Carpet" and "Tonchiki Gallery" embody this unique tendency.
