Naoto Kumagai
Taking plants as his main motif, Kumagai has been pursuing an original form of expression through depictions of their shape, color, taste and existence.
This exhibition "p d" exhibits paintings ("p") in July and drawings ("d") in September. This is the first time that Kumagai is exhibiting his drawings publicly. Compared to the paintings, which evoke the unique existence of plants as a simple motif, his drawings are more alive and experimental with various motifs, techniques and media.
Another solo exhibition by Kumagai is planned next year at Tokyo Opera City, Shinjuku.
