Large exhibitions of his works were held in prefectural and national museums across Japan since the 1970s and his name became established internationally with the invitation to take part in the 1986 Venice Biennale.

Although well-known as a sculptor, he also produced large amounts of drawings and prints. This exhibition will present his prints including ones depicting the renowned "dog" that often appears in his sculptural works, alongside prints by 4 other artists.
