Ceramic works with animal motifs can be found in all places and times. Animal motifs depicted on ancient ceramic ware often depict the worship of animals as spiritual existences and their close connection with life, while animal ceramics by contemporary artists show all sorts of ideas and feelings, projected through their organic forms.

This exhibition includes works by Bernard Leach, Kazuo Yagi, Shin Fujihira and other Japanese and international artists as well as ceramic ware from Papua New Guinea, Indonesia, Peru and more.
