Stan Anderson "North, South, East and West: Heaven and Earth"

Museum of Modern Art, Gunma
Finished

Artists

Stan Anderson
Sculptor Stan Anderson was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, in 1947. Since the 1980s, Anderson has exhibited 3D works made of wood and other natural materials in Japan, dealing with the relationship between human and the surrounding environment. In 2004, he moved to Kuni Village in Gunma prefecture to set up his new atelier, also having initiated outdoor workshops.

With an attempt to interactively link the province of Kuni Village and the exhibition space of the museum, this exhibition showcases Anderson's installation pieces made out of primordial materials such as wood and earth.
