Kaoru Yamaguchi
Kaoru Yamaguchi (1907-1968) was a representative yoga painter from Gunma prefecture who flourished from the prewar through postwar eras. The Museum of Modern Art, Gunma houses a total of 66 oil and watercolor paintings, sketches and prints by the artist.

On view at this special exhibition are around 30 works, including watercolor sketches for the mural at Takasaki Municipal Office entitled "Morning, Noon and Night" (now exhibited permanently at Takasaki City Gallery), and rarely exhibited commissioned work. Also on display is the previously unexhibited and newly donated piece "Misato Castle Ruin - Cliff".
