Thonik
Spiral is pleased to present the first exhibition in Japan of highly acclaimed Dutch graphic design studio Thonik.

With designers and architects such as Droog Design and MVRDV, Dutch creativity is drawing worldwide attention. Their designs are characterized by their freedom and provocativeness as well as humorously critical spirit. Thonik represents this creativity in graphic designs that employ modules and which are often developed into three dimensional communication design that envelops a whole project as seen with their work for the Socialist Party in the Netherlands. Their first exhibition in Asia was held in May 2008 in the Shanghai Art Museum and they were responsible for the visual communication of the Venice Architecture Biennale of the same year.

In this exhibition, of which title "en" draws inspiration from the Japanese term "en" meaning "ties" and the Dutch term "en" meaning "and", the gallery space and the cafe space will both be turned into dynamic installations and past works including websites and TV ads as well as internet viral movies will also be on view.
