"Birthday" Exhibition

Living Design Center Ozone

poster for "Birthday" Exhibition

This event has ended.

This exhibition features works by designer Akihiro Kumagaya inspired by the act of giving birthday presents to family members, lovers and friends. Presents are not only things that you like yourself, but should also be things that the recipient will like. By imagining the feelings and emotions of others, a birthday present becomes a form of communication between giver and recipient. Kumagaya's works are inspired by these feelings, and this exhibition serves as a sort of "present" to all visitors as well. From his fruit greeting card "Peeler" to his charcoal-fired wooden "Sumizara" (an ashtray that eliminates odors), as well as his new works, Kumigaya offers viewers a variety of designs born out of a consideration for the feelings and emotions of the "recipient."

This exhibition is part of the Ozone support program that promotes the work of young creators.
