Suntory Museum of Art
Finished
Traditional hand-made Japanese paper washi is known for its soft shades of color and textures while being resistant and pliable. From ancient times to the current days, washi has inspired diverse forms of expression. Its history reflects Japanese aesthetic sensitivity. This exhibition presents a wide array of washi articles including the earliest documents that employed washi to Isamu Noguchi's light sculptures.
