"Eternal Moment" Exhibition
This event has ended.
Reiko Tsunashima and Yuko Taga's shared exhibition aspires to depict that short and fleeting moment that is almost within your reach, but just out of it. The moment that is almost within your grasp, but just beyond it.
At first glance, Reiko Tsunashima and Yuko Taga's artwork don’t seem to share any common ground. Tsunashima's pieces are abstract expressions created using ink. They depict that freely expanding inner 'something' flowing from the brush and beginning to be told. There are some which appear to be similar to landscape scenes, but according to Tsunashima 'they are all ink scenes'. As the resulting pieces are deeply affected by the climate, ink, water and paper used at the time of creation, the artwork is born at the moment that all these elements are brought together. Combining the mixed mediums of Japanese paper (washi), ink and pencil, oil pastels, acrylic paints and spray paints, Tsunashima brings out an underlying inner narrative. The poetic title of her pieces invite you toward that world, and to be welcomed by those things that Tsunashima has rescued. The scenes include only that which is absolutely necessary, diligently arranged, creating the essential 'moment' of the narrative. Both artists' array of 'moments' fuse together - it would shame to not experience their resonating 'Eternal Moment'.
