"Russian Dream 1917-1937" Exhibition

Museum of Modern Art, Saitama
Finished
The artistic revolution of the Russian Avant-garde of the 1910s overlapped with the nation's dream in the 1917 Russian revolution. Dreaming of a new form of society, artists went beyond painting and sculpture and experimented with graphic design, ceramics, fashion, theater and architecture. This exhibition will retrace the Utopia dreamed by Russia in the 1920s and 30s through the graphic design of posters, magazines and picture books as well as everyday objects such as plates and textiles, drawings for theater sets, architectural models and photographs from the same period.
