Koji Yoshioka
In 1968, the 24 year old Koji Yoshioka studied at the Ecole National des Beaux Arts in Paris. His talent blossomed early on, and in 1975 he became the youngest member ever elected to the prestigious Salon d'Automne at the age of 31. Since his Paris days Yoshioka has focused his work on the Mediterranean (Europe and North Africa), as well as other countries like China.

The Mediterranean series of works begun in 1997 at the Bunkamura Gallery features bold compositions in striking colors that depict Yoshioka's travels through Greece, Italy, France and Turkey over the course of his 14-year sojourn in Paris.

This exhibition, the 10th in this series, showcases portraits of Spain, from its northern regions to the province of Catalonia, the medieval cityscape of Toledo, and the Costa del Sol. On display are around 40 new works including both oil paintings and prints.
