"A Selection of Canadian Animation: From the Collection of La Cinémathèque Québécoise" Screening

National Film Archive of Japan
Finished
Co-organized by the Cinematheque Quebecoise, this program is a retrospective of Canadian animation films.

Canada has produced a number of unique animators including Norman McLaren, who is well-known for his experimental techniques. Along with the establishment of the National Film Board of Canada (NFB) in 1939, many creators emerged in the Canadian animation industry.

This retrospective program presents a series of 100 animated films created between 1941 to 1985, including many masterpieces that emerged from the NFB. The Cinematheque Quebecoise in Montreal is known for their comprehensive collection of Canadian animation, and selections from their collection will be generously presented to a Japanese audience for the first time.

Please check the NFC's website for more information.
