"G-tokyo 2010" Art Fair

Mori Arts Center Gallery
Finished
Contemporary art has been recognized as something familiar, and not abstruse, for some time now. Art fans have since broadened their perspectives and frequented art venues to appreciate and purchase artworks.

Now everyone is ensured ready access to contemporary art. However, the ones who acknowledge its real appeal are those who make deep inroads into it and fully experience the dynamism of a contemporary art scene which undergoes constant changes.

If one is preoccupied with the superficial satisfaction of understanding contemporary art as merely "easy-to-understand art", it is no different from how we consume goods and products that are marketed to us through a volley of surrounding information.

Why is art special? What does it mean to purchase art and live with it? It is time for us to readdress these questions.

"G-tokyo 2010" is an annual art fair where a global art market, remarkable museums and 15 representative contemporary art galleries come together and explore anew the meaning of art.
