"New Works and Study Pieces by Mina Perhonen and Torafu" Exhibition

Gallery Claska
Finished
Mina Perhonen designer Akira Minagawa used to be a regular customer of the Idee shop in Aoyama, led by current Claska/Do director Takeo Okuma, and the two are old friends. Minagawa was quite taken by the vibe and atmosphere at the main branch of Claska/Do in Meguro, conceptualized by Okuma after becoming director of the store, and they agreed to do something together at some point. This exhibition is the first installment of that project.

Design firm Torafu, who handle the design of the guest rooms on the 6th floor, used to occupy an office in the building that now houses the Claska, and have long cultivated a close relationship to the hotel. On display in the Mina Perhonen exhibition space as well as the ongoing Prototype 03 exhibition is a series of stools that Torafu have produced in collaboration with Mina Perhonen. Many of the other Mina products on display also feature Torafu as a collaborator.
