Through the collection of Ryutaro Takahashi, a psychiatrist known as one of Japan's best contemporary art collectors, this exhibition traces back the trend of Japanese contemporary art from the 1990s onward that has attracted worldwide attention. The collection of over 1000 pieces includes works by emerging artists as well as representative and earlier works by internationally acclaimed figures.

Taking one of modern terms "neoteny" as a key word, this exhibition features 33 artists from the Takahashi collection. From worldly renowned Yoshitomo Nara and Takashi Murakami to young talents, around 80 paintings, sculptures, video and installation works by various artists are on view.

It's hoped that viewers will discover the joy of experiencing and contemplating on contemporary art through this first extensive exhibition of the Takahashi collection.
