Geidai Spring Collection Exhibition

The University Art Museum - Tokyo University of the Arts
Finished
Tokyo University of the Arts was founded in 1890 with a collection of educational and research materials donated by Tenshin (Kakuzo) Okakura. In the some 120 years since, the collection has grown steadily along with the university, spanning world-renowned works of art to obscure archival material.

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the opening of the museum of the Tokyo University of the Arts, and a series of two exhibitions - held in the spring and summer - will present works from the collection from a variety of perspectives.

In addition to introducing the cultural wealth of the museum to this year's incoming students and the general public, this year's spring collection exhibition also showcases a number of new acquisitions that were added to the holdings last year. Also, a wide variety of ancient art and antiquities that are rarely shown to the public will be on display.
