Iwasaki uses charcoal or lead pencil to depict familiar motifs on paper, layering them one by one to make animation works. These are sometimes enlarged using a projector, or shown on a small screen; they represent "another, different dimension of time within the real one," or else Iwasaki's own "nowhere in particular," a place that intersects with the temporal axis. As viewers coming into contact with Iwasaki's "nowhere," our own memories are awakened, and our own personal "other time, nowhere in particular" emerges.
