Moriyuki Kuwabara "From Dots to a Circle - Traveling Across The Grid"

Ikeda Museum of 20th Century Art
Finished

Artists

Moriyuki Kuwabara
Moriyuki Kuwabara is known for his paintings consisting of a countless number of circles that are laid out in a grid system. Since the 1960s, he has been exploring the possibilities of this specific system on canvas. This exhibition presents a total of 35 paintings that show his explorations in the last 40 years.

Kuwabara created a wide array of works based on these limitations. The repetition of circles in various colors creates a sense of both delicacy and dynamism, as well as a controlled subtlety that stimulates the viewer's imagination.
