This inaugural edition of the graphic "1_Wall" exhibition gives 6 artists the chance to hold solo exhibitions of their work. The artists are selected through a screening process and portfolio review, and are invited to give final presentations of their work at the end.
"1_Wall" is a renewed version of the Hitotsubo exhibition, which saw its 30th installment held in spring 2008. A second round of screening will determine the winner of the Grand Prize on July 9th, and presentations by participating artists will be given in front of a general audience. The winner of the Grand Prize will be given the right to hold a solo show and produce a pamphlet one year after the award is made.
Compared to the Hitotsubo exhibition and its decision process based solely on a portfolio , "1_Wall" incorporates an additional review process that enables judges to measure how sincere applicants really are.
