Alberto Giacometti
Marunouchi Gallery is pleased to announce an exhibition by Alberto Giacometti entitled "Drawings from the Private Collection" from September 28th to October 30th, 2009.

Known for his long and slender sculpture that seems to embody human existence, Alberto Giacometti is a towering giant in the 20th century art world with his peculiar artistic style and profound spiritual nature. For Giacometti, creation was not something achievable through the mere act of drawing or sculpting. Rather, it was something that could be attained through the process of reaching the truth. As such, he did not put emphasis on the completion of the process and even threw away his drawings.

On view at this exhibition are around 10 hard-to-find sketches by Giacometti.
