Hiroki Yasutomi was born in 1978 in Kagawa, Japan. He draws sofas in public spaces or water pouring from a tap on the theme of "night" or "silence" in monochrome photographs. He uses simple materials - pencil and paper - and draws with a highly
sophisticated "hatching" technique which Leonardo da Vinci used in his time, covering his picture surface with millions of layered lines.
In this exhibition, Yasutomi's new works will be shown and sold in addition to those
shown previously at his solo exhibition at the Nagi Museum of Contemporary Art last year. His works have gained much attention thanks to Sotheby's Hong Kong using one of his works for PR purposes at its Asian Contemporary Art auction this coming April.
