Bernard Fuchs
Bernard Fuchs was an master of portraying light and shade, evoking a still and tranquil world from manifold layers of color and luster. After graduating from college, he did a brief stint in advertising for automobiles before becoming a full-time artist accepting commissions for top magazines and doing illustration work.

Fuchs's first visit to Italy in 1962 left him enchanted. He took photos and made sketches of its landscapes, depicting its gorgeous scenery and ways of life. Fuchs's work is known for its remarkable portrayals of living, contemporary culture that thrives against the backdrop of a beautiful, old city. His illustration works, on the other hand, communicate fully the narratives of his subjects, bringing to life classic works by writers such as Hemingway, Henry James and Thomas Mann. His illustrations have been praised as being "full of overwhelming force, with a charm difficult to resist."

This exhibition focuses on his Italian landscape paintings, as well as his golf and baseball-themed works.
