Koseki Ono "Cultivate the Boulder II"

Art Front Gallery
Finished

Artists

Koseki Ono
Using small "columns" of ink created by superimposing up to 100 layers of screen prints, Ono creates works that move beyond the realm of conventional printing. The layers in the columns speak of the repeated actions and accumulated time required to create them. In "Adabana", which uses the cast-off shells of cicadas, the colored columns add a new life to these shells that are symbolic of the short and fleeting life of these insects. This exhibition will present both past print works on flat surfaces and the later sculptural works created with prints.
