"Ihee Kimura and Henri Cartier-Bresson" Exhibition

Tokyo Photographic Art Museum
Finished

Artists

Ihee Kimura, Henri Cartier-Bresson
Despite living and working in different continents, Ihee Kimura and Henri Cartier-Bresson have equal importance as photographers that have opened the possibilities of modern photographic expression. They both used a Leica to cut out scenes of everyday life that incorporated elements that are universal. Yet the difference in place did also have undeniable though subtle influences.

This exhibition allows the audience not only to enjoy the works of the two great masters but also to compare the universal and the individual. More than 150 photographs from the museum collection and collections from elsewhere are on view.
