"L'enfant dans les collections du musée du Louvre" Exhibition

The National Art Center, Tokyo
Finished
Around 200 exquisite works portraying children from 7 sections of the Louvre collection (ancient Egyptian art, ancient Oriental art, ancient Greek, Etruscan and Roman arts, painting, sculpture, crafts, and sketches and prints) are on view at this exhibition.

Through a display of a wide array of artworks that cross boundaries between time periods, regions and genres, such as the sole extant child mummy, graceful sculptures from ancient Greece, lovely toys from the ancient Orient, paintings by Tiziano and Chardin and sketches by Rubens, this exhibition looks back on how children and the world around them have been depicted and expressed through art.

Please visit the exhibition website for details on related events.
