"Hide and Sex" is an attempt to examine from various perspectives the spiritual realm of Japanese women with the premise that they have become extremely specialized in terms of sadism and masochism. For instance, it is undeniable that a virtual and closed utopia often seen in SM hotel rooms has a close connection to those women's mentality. It is important here to remind ourselves that this relationship can be built only upon the condition where the women are offered such a peculiar environment. Thus they are always the ones to receive pleasure. Nathalie Daoust attempts to communicate with those who rather try to live in the world of fantasy than reality.
