Tota Nagao Exhibition

Bunkamura Museum of Art
Finished

Artists

Tota Nagao
Almost all of Tota Nagao's works depict the landscapes and sights of France, where he maintains a studio. In 1966, Nagao left Japan and moved to France. The exotic scenes in his paintings recall places in our memory that have become familiar to us, evoking beautiful reminiscences of the past.

Nagao's painterly world hints at the depth of the history, nature, humanity and past associated with the places he depicts, while his style is infused with the refined sensibility and lyrical feel of the Japanese.

This is Nagao's first solo show in 3 years, focusing on recent and new works that depict scenes from Morocco, Greece and France.
