Central East Tokyo Planning Committee (president: Naoki Sato) and Tokyo Artpoint Project are co-hosting a one-day event "CET090718" on July 18th (Sat).
Launched in 2003, Central East Tokyo (CET) is a multidisciplinary festival involving art, design and architecture. CET has become established itself as a collective term for a new cultural area linking Kanda, Bakurocho, Asakusabashi and Nihonbashi. While the area once lost its vigor in face of the rapid urban development, new galleries and cafes have now entered into the area due to CET's diligent efforts. What will happen to the area? What are the roles of art and the creative? In conjunction with the launch of "Tokyo Artpoint Project", which will start this year as part of "Tokyo Culture Creation Project", this one-day event hosts tours of the transforming area as well as a series of discussions reflecting respective views of CET and Tokyo Artpoint Project.
