"Leonard Weisgard's Picture Book Illustrations" Exhibition

Leonard Weisgard
Following on from last year, Logos Gallery is holding an exhibition and sale of old picture books from abroad.

Since the 1930s, many picture book illustrators devoted themselves to creating these works, hoping for peace for children all over the world. This exhibition showcases more than 1000 picture books by famous authors as well as out-of-print works that have long been forgotten.

These books are not made out of the high-quality paper of today: rather, their pages are rough and tattered and the print is uneven. For this reason, these books represent the development of a product that is impossible to achieve using current print technology. Picture book authors of the time mixed elements of contemporary life into their style, creating utterly charming works of art.

There will also be a vintage poster corner where visitors can pick up posters at ¥1050 each.

In addition, around 20 original illustrations by Margaret Wise Brown and Leonard Weisgard will be on display.
