"Bratislava International Picture Book" Exhibition

The Bratislava International Picture Book exhibition (BIB) held in the Slovakian capital is the world's largest event of its kind. Since its establishment in 1967, the exhibition has been held every two years (every odd year), and 2007 saw the 21st edition of the event. 388 illustrators from 38 countries participated, and 2740 original illustrations from 477 books were screened. this exhibition introduces works by 11 prizewinning artists and 18 Japanese artists, including the Grand Prize winners.

In addition, this year's exhibition takes a special retrospective look at the 1st through 20th (held in 2005) exhibitions, showcasing past grand prize winners and the work of these artists. Of particular note is Yasuo Segawa who won the Grand Prize at the first such exhibition.
