The International Festival for Arts and Media Yokohama 2009 will be held from October 31st to November 29th at Shinko Pier Exhibition Hall, BankART Studio NYK and other venues in Yokohama.
Prior to the holding of the festival, talk events will take place on April 25th (Sat).
-"International Festival for Arts and Media Yokohama 2009" Introduction
Director Fumihiko Sumitomo will introduce the theme of the festival, logo, exhibition layout and its context. He will also talk about "support clue", a volunteer group consisting of Yokohama citizens, and their activities.
-Yokohama Field Work
Introduces activities and research of 3 guest speakers with regard to the relationship between a 'city' and 'arts and media'.
1) Researching the city of Yokohama?
Satoshi Nakashima (part-time lecturer, Musashino Art University Department of Arts Policy and Management)
2) Will the city of Yokohama turn into music?
Taro Yasuno (composer/president, Hoho Machine)
3) Will the city of Yokohama turn into a canvas?
Shinpei Takamatsu (media expression researcher/ student at the Institute of Advanced Media Arts and Sciences)
