The well-honed techniques and sensibilities of seasoned craftsmen arouse responses that sometimes transcend those evoked by art. This vivid sense of surprise in everyday routines can be traced to the painstaking and laborious work that went into crafting these materials. In addition, even if the materials are different, these craftsmen depend nonetheless on both vertical and horizontal ties within the industry.
The tools that we avail ourselves of in everyday life today began by taming fire and creating bladed instruments, and a ceaseless process of refining this technology through the ages. New technologies and techniques emerge from connections forged between these accumulated skills.
This exhibition is a collaborative effort between Ozone and young but seasoned craftsmen, who serve as a link between both different people and eras.
