This event has ended.

This three-person exhibition showcases the work of ceramic artists Lucie Rie and Jennifer Lee, and woodturning artist Ernst Gamperl.

Lucie Rie greatly influenced the field of contemporary ceramics with her bold techniques and forms of expression expressed through simple designs. Jennifer Lee's pots present a quiet, abstract exploration of space - her works often evoke a deep sense of nature for the viewer. Ernst Gamperl uses woodturning to channel the life from fallen trees and driftwood into his creations. Through the work of these three artists that also hint at the origin of creation, this exhibition will take the audience on a tour of the world of creation that enriches our lives and culture.

"I don't want the only Japanese words known outside of Japan to be 'manga' and 'tsunami,' " says Miyake. "I want the word 'utsuwa' also to become a household term ... ''
