When Gabriela Galván took over part of a collector's costume jewelry collection, she realized the chemistry that existed between jewelry and the universe. The universe is a space shrouded in mystery, and is also a realm connected to notions of collective fantasy and grandiose ambition. Each piece of jewelry, on the other hand, whose original owner is unknown, has its own distinctive story. The true value of jewelry is not decided by its monetary value, but is instead closely linked to something extremely personal and sentimental, such as its wearer's joy and happiness. In this exhibition, this Mexican artist creates installation work where pieces of jewelry make up a poetic yet playful expanse of the sky, each of which represents a snack-sized bite of the universe.
