Artists

Naoaki Yamamoto
Naoaki Yamamoto is one of the artists receiving most attention in the field of Japanese painting, who after graduating from the grad school of the Aichi Prefectural University of Fine Arts has held numerous shows and exhibited widely throughout Japan. The year the artist spent in Prague in 1992-93 was to have a significance on his works. As seen in the series "Door", his works moved beyond the realm of traditional Japanese painting and opened new pictorial possibilities. Since then Yamamoto continues to create fresh and original works that are layered with the paradoxical tragedies in contemporary life while retaining the essence of Japanese painting technique.

This exhibition, which will be the first in a museum for Yamamoto, will display new works prepared for this show as well as representative works of the past.
