This is the 7th edition of a biennial exhibition that has been organized by the sculpture department at Tokyo University of the Arts since 1997. Participating artists use traditional sculpting methods while exploring possibilities for new artistic expression. Although labor intensive, the idea for a sculpture sometimes takes shape in the space of a single "low blow" moment. In order to chance upon this momentary flicker of inspiration, sculptors spend entire days buried in their work.
