"Artistic Crossings between East and West" Exhibition

Yokohama Museum of Art
Finished
This exhibition features depictions of Japan by the numerous European and American painters and photographers who came to Japan after the opening up of the port of Yokohama. What were the similarities and differences between these portrayals and those by Japanese artists of the same period? This is the question posed by this exhibition of paintings, prints and photos from the late Edo through Meiji periods.
