"The Form of Sound 2009: Craft Art Symphony" Exhibition

Bunkamura Museum of Art
Finished
Handmade objects miraculously equipped with all the necessary functions, fitting seamlessly into the life of the user.

Crafts filled with the intentions and thoughts of the creator are like pieces of art that can be incorporated into one's own life. They transmit a warmth and gentleness entirely different to that of existing, manufactured products, accompanying the user through life like a familiar confidant, and growing old together. At a time when awareness of ecological sustainability is rising, a product like this that one can cherish and use forever like a personal treasure ought not be a luxury.

This summer exhibition, now into its 6th installment, features works that produce a wide variety of familiar tones and sounds. From fresh accessories to leather products, object, dolls and woodwork, a large selection of crafts by 16 talented artisans is on display and for sale.
